Mrs. Lily Ackley Dies in Hospital. Mrs. Lily B. Ackley, 66, wife of Claude J. Ackley, 604 E. Cherry St., died in a local hospital Monday morning after an extended illness. Mrs. Ackley, a native of Oslo, Norway, where she was born October 2, 1886, was a trained nurse by profession. She lived her early life in England and came to the United States in 1907, via Canada. For a year, she made her home in Tacoma and then went to Portland where she went into nurses' training and was graduated from the Good Samaritan Hospital in 1912. She married Claude Ackley February 14, 1914 in Walla Walla. Mrs. Ackley belonged to the Episcopal Church and to the Alumni Association of Good Samaritan Hospital, Portland.
The funeral is being arranged for 3:30 p.m. Tuesday.
