Harrison Frederic Blades, Sr, 68, of Niantic, formerly of Decatur, died 9:45am Saturday in Decatur Memorial Hospital.

Burial office and requiem will be 10am Tuesday in St John's Episcopal Church. Friends may call 7 to 9pm Monday at Brintlinger's Funeral Home. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Illiopolis.

Mr Blades was born in Minneapolis, Kan.

He was a member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers, St John's Episcopal Church, president of Harrison F Blades Inc Electric Contractors and governor of the National Electrical Contractors Association for eight years.

He married Virginia Hughes Jan 1, 1930 in Minneapolis, Kan.

Surviving are his wife; son, Harrison F Jr, of Decatur; daughter, Mrs Priscillia Blades Minich of Decatur; brothers, Julius E and Charles E, both of Houston, Tex; three grandchildren.

One sister and one grandchild preceded him in death.
