CARROLL, HAZEL Born Oct. 11, 1926 in Mildred, Texas and passed away Feb. 27, 2008 in Garland, TX. She is preceded in death by her husband, Joe Thomas Carroll; son, Tommy Joe Carroll and daughter, Patricia Ann McAlpine. Mrs. Carroll is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Jim and Cola Carroll; daughters, Mary Kay Hodges and Rhonda Wrye; grandchildren, Amber and Aaron McAlpine;, Chad Carroll; Joe, Mac and Blake Carroll, Rocky, Rusty and Carla Carter, Stephanie and Jesse Wrye, 5 great-grandchildren; Lexie and Cole Carroll, Riley Joe Carter, Tanner Joe Stamper, Kylee Carter; sisters, Daisy Robinson, Georgia Faughtenberry, Rosie Thompson and Lili Halladay.

Hazel was a long time member of New Heights Baptist Church (formerly Central Baptist) of Garland. She retired from Garland Independent School District. She was a member of the Friends of Wylie Opry in Wylie, Texas. Hazel along with her husband, Joe Carroll and her close friend, Ivene Arivett were known around Garland, Wylie and other towns close by as "The Garland Trio" during the 1970's and then she and Joe were known as "The Country Chapeltones". Singing was one of her favorite things to do.

Visitation will be held 7:00-9:00 PM, Sunday, March 2, 2008 at Restland Funeral Home. Service will be held 10:00 AM, Monday, March 3, 2008 at Restland Memorial Chapel
