The Gracious Mrs. Ball
Beside Ball (Isaac Ball), would be Mrs. Ball with her infectious laughter, gentle graciousness and vast understanding, a woman of scholarly discrimination. She would be school "mother" to two generations of youngsters. And during World War I, when men teachers became scarce, Mrs. Ball, a graduate of the famous old Columbia Atheneum at Columbus, Tenn., would teach history and English until her husbands retirement. It was at the Atheneum that she met Mr. Ball, who was a young teacher there.
