William W. Wood was the son of William & Elizabeth Barkley Wood. He married Martha Ann Jones 5 Jun, 1855 in Cannon Co., TN.. They had fourteen children, eleven are known: Susan Caroline, Benjamine F., John Henry, Elizabeth Betty, William Jay, Mattie L., James Henry, Malissa Josephine, Ada M., Ida J., and Clyde Wood. William W. Wood donated an acre of land upon which the Wood Church of Christ and cemetery were established.
