Son of Leonard "Boone" Elledge and Mary McClain.

Uriah first married Catherine Scott, 26 Mar, 1825, at Olmstead's Mount (now Allison's Mound), Morgan County, Illinois. He then married Delia Ann (Kellogg) Ball on 12 Dec, 1858.

Uriah Elledge owned and operated the Illinois River side wheel steam ferry named the 'Z Biddle', named after Zachariah Biddle, and built by James Haywood at Griggsville Landing and launched in 1878.
