When John Lawrence "Jack" Vance was born on June 26, 1910, in Weatherford, Parker, Texas, his father, James Alexander "Jim" Vance, was 39 and his mother, Nancy Ann "Tensie" Steele Vance, was 36. He married Cora Pearl Jacobs on October 31, 1931 in Jackson County, Oklahoma. They had: Vada Ann Vance Sullivan Tidwell. Jack and Pearl divorced. He then married Oletha Irene "Lee" Ownsby in Las Vegas, Clark, Nevada. He died on December 7, 1991, in Mineral Wells, Palo Pinto, Texas, at the age of 81. He was buried in Garner, Parker, Texas in the Bethesda Cemetery. His siblings were Ethel Lee Vance md Irl Roy Lowry, Roland Steele "Zeb" Vance md Cora Martha "Jim" Burgin and my grandmother, Lorena Maye Vance md Robert Poston "Jack" Bradford. He was my great uncle and the information was written by Cheryl Walters Parr.
