A native and lifelong resident of Vinton, she was an active member of First Baptist Church in Vinton where she had previously served as a Sunday School teacher. She had worked for Calcasieu Marine Bank in Vinton for many years and she retired from Levingston Ship Building in Orange and Crown-Zellerbach Corporation in Orange.
Survivors include three sisters, Marjorie Hoyt, Martha Melancon and Mary Johnnie and husband, Cal; one brother, Paul Lyons and wife, Darleen; a sister-in-law, Estelle Lyons; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Clarence Leonard Lyons, Sr. and Nora Aldredge Lyons; and a brother, Clarence Leonard Lyons, Jr.
