(Note: The military marker recorded the dates of his birth from his military papers recieved from the Federal Archives. He enlisted March 3, 1862 Parker Co. TX, and Mustered March 15, 1862 in Houston Texas fought with Co A. Griffins Battalion Texas Infantry on the coast of Texas as Teamster and later given detached quarter master details from Texas to Louisana. From Family bibles, census and other records, 4/7/1829 is the correct birth date and the grave stone is incorrect).

Cornelius married Elizabeth Beththire Norman April 1, 1858 in Van Zandt Co., Texas. By 1859 they were in Parker County, Texas.
Father of: Martha Jane Grant Etier, Andrew Jackson Grant, John Cephus Grant, Mary Alice Grant Davis, Sarah Matilda Grant Davis, and James Lee Grant.
Cornelius was a farmer and a blacksmith by trade.
