Died Thursday morning, Feb. 29, 1912, at her residence, three miles south of Farmingdale, Mrs. Mary E. Leaverton, aged 85 years, 2 months and 3 days. The funeral will be held at the residence. The interment will be made in Berlin cemetery.

Mrs. Leaverton was born in Bond county, Illinois, Dec. 25, 1826. She was married to John A. Leaverton Dec. 27, 1847. She united with the Baptist church in early life and has since been devoutly steadfast to its creed.

She is survived by the following children: Frank J. Leaverton of Chicago, Mrs. A. W. Sale, George W. Leaverton and Mrs. E. J. Smith of Springfield; Mrs. A. E. Washburn of Loami and Charles A. Leaverton of Farmingdale; seventeen grandchildren; five great-grandchildren and one brother, John M. Smith of Greenville, Texas.

Mrs. Leaverton led a very busy and active life, devoting her strongest efforts to the interests of her loved ones.
