Mrs. CLARINDA McGAUGH.
AN AGED LADY CALLED TO HER FINAL REWARD.
She Was Nearing the Centenarian Mark When Death Entered the Home.

Mrs. CLARINDA McGAUGH, who was nearing the centenarian mark, passed to her final reward at the home of her daughter, Mrs. A. W. BROWN, in this city Friday, January 26, aged ninety-two years, seven months and sixteen days.

The subject of this brief sketch was a native of Ohio and was born June 10, 1829. Her parents moved from the state of her nativity to Illinois when she was a child. She was united in marriage to HOWELL DAVIS April 10, 1849, and to this union eight children, five sons and three daughters, were born, three of whom are living and are: B. O. DAVIS of Hydro, Mrs. GEORGE WILLIAMS, Heavener, Okla., and HOWELL DAVIS, JR., of Thomas, [Okla.]. Her husband died May 4,1864.

One year following the death of her first husband, Mrs. Davis was united in the bonds of wedlock to WILLIAM McGAUGH, and to this union six children were born, five of whom are still living. They are: ROBERT McGAUGH, Boulder, Wyo.; Mrs. GEORGE JONES, Sedgewich, Kas.; Mesdames J. H. WILMETH and A. W. BROWN, both of Thomas, [Okla.] and B. A. McGAUGH, Wichita, Kas. Besides her children, Mrs. McGAUGH is survived by twenty-one grandchildren, eighteen great-grandchildren and one great great great grandchild.

Mrs. McGaugh's second husband was summoned to his final reward July 31, 1916, and was laid to rest at Concordia, Kansas, and her remains were laid beside those of his.

During early womanhood she professed faith in Christ and was united with the Baptist church and lived a faithful and consistent christian through her entire span of years.

The funeral services were held at the home of her daughter, Mrs. A. W. BROWN, at nine o'clock last Friday morning, conducted by Rev. W. S. Dearing, assisted by Rev. R. L. Grant, pastor of the local Methodist church.

Following the sad obsequy, the remains were expressed to Concordia, Kansas, for interment. The following relatives accompanied the remains to the burial place: Mrs. MABEL DANIELS, B. A. McGAUGH, A. W. BROWN and daughter, Miss MABEL.

V. Martha McGaugh Brown was born on 12 Mar 1872 in Illinois. She died on 30 Jan 1960 in Thomas, Custer County, Oklahoma.

VI. Martin McGaugh was born on 12 Mar 1872. He died as an infant on 14 Mar 1872.
