Died- At the residence of his son near Rochester, Ia, Nov 3, 1874, Daniel R. Ridenour, aged 75 yrs and 7 months. Father Ridenour came from Ohio to Iowa some 20 yrs ago. He was a man of many good qualities as he was loved and respected by all. Those who knew him longest and best praised him most. He was good to the poor and willing to lend a helping hand wherever help was necessary. In his death the community lost much as did also the church. He was a regular member of the Reformed Church and adorned his Christian profession by a consistent life. He died in the triumphs of a living faith. His funeral was largely attended on the day after his death. Many of his neighbors and friends followed him to his last resting place. Peace be to his ashes.
