W. B. CRABB was born in Henry County, Ky., July 19, 1843, the eldest son of five children born to A. C. and Sarah A. (Barnett) Crabb. A. C. was born in Henry County, January 25, 1817, was always engaged in farming pursuits and died July 6, 1876. He was a son of Jeremiah and Eleanor (Compton) Crabb. Mrs. Sarah A. Crabb was born in Green County, Ky., a daughter of William Barnett. Our subject received a good education at the Eminence and Georgetown (Ky.) Colleges. In 1862 he enlisted in the Confederate Army, Company H, Fourth Kentucky Cavalry, and remained until the struggle closed. He married, May 18, 1871, Belle Guthrie, of Henry County, Ky., daughter of James and Fannie (Smith) Guthrie, and three children have bless their union: Fannie G., Lewis C. and James Guthrie. Mr. Crabb is comfortably situated on a nice farm of 317 acres near Eminence. He is an extensive dealer in fine horses and trotters; also buy mules and horses and ships by the car load.
