Services for Virginia Lorraine Phillips Sampson, 81, will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, June 24, 2006, at First Baptist Church with the Rev. Monty Baggett officiating. Interment will be at Rose Hill Cemetery.
Born on Nov. 5, 1924, in Davis, Okla., to James Edward and Edna Mae Arnold Phillips, she died on June 20, 2006, at the local hospital. She was preceded in death by her parents.
Mrs. Sampson had been an Ardmore resident since 1928. She graduated from Ardmore High School in 1942 and was a telephone operator for Southwestern Bell Telephone Company for 35 years before she retired in 1978. She was a member of First Baptist Church and SWB Pioneers.
Survivors include her sons, Richard A. Alexander and wife, Janet, Oak Ridge, Tenn., David A. Smith and wife, Wyvonna, Glencoe, and Mark E. Sampson and wife, Lori, Ardmore; daughters, Alice L. Davis and husband, Steve, McLoud, and Melody McKitrick and husband, Steve, Edmond; a sister, LaVeta Austin, Oklahoma City; grandchildren, Morgan Alexander, Michael Smith, Kerry Davis and wife, Darlene, Kristina Davis, Kasey Davis and wife, Jill, Christopher McKitrick, Jennifer McKitrick, Alexander McKitrick, Conner McKitrick, Robert Sampson and Joshua Sampson; and great-grandchildren, Ethan Davis, Riley Davis and Logan Davis.
