William J. Westerheide. Dad was born on April 19, 1919, in Ardmore, OK, the last of five children born to Charles & Sophia Westerheide. As a youth, Dad worked as a cowboy and his love of horses, cattle, and the open country remained with him his entire life. Some of our earliest and fondest memories of Dad revolve around riding and caring for horses. Whatever home we lived in, it always seemed at the edge of town. Dad and our mother, Lucy, who preceded Dad in death, were married on Valentine's Day, 1942. Dad served in the Army Air Corps during WW II, and settled in Muskogee. He entered the banking business, and in 1956 moved to Midwest City. He retired from the First National Bank of Midwest City in 1987, and left many friends there. Together for 57 years, Bill and Lucy raised six children. The goodness of Dad and Mom is reflected in the goodness of their children, grandchildren, and the many friends who remember them. Among those mourning his loss are his children, Kathleen & Jim Moran, Joe & Julianna Westerheide, Chuck & Sarah Westerheide, Nancy & Lonnie Edwards, John Westerheide, Steve & Pamela Westerheide, and grandchildren Alfredo, Jose, Alex, Chuck Jr., Eric, Bunkie, Patrick, Tobi, and Berry. Dad will be remembered at Mass at St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church, 3901 S. Sunnylane Rd., Del City, at 11:30 A.M. Saturday, March 24. Memorial donations can be made to the Bill and Lucy Westerheide Family Assistance Fund in care of Chance to Change, 5228 Classen Circle, OKC, OK 73118.
