Donald D. Coen, 80, died Wednesday, Aug. 6, 2008, at his home in Garden City.

He was born Dec. 5, 1927, in Garden City, to Ralph S. and Gertrude G. Griffin Coen.

A lifetime resident of Garden City, Mr. Coen worked with his father and brother, Dallas, in their family bee keeping and property management business, which was later known as Coen Brothers. He served in the U.S. Navy from January 1946 to November 1947 and also served in the Reserves from 1947 to 1952. He enjoyed woodworking, refinishing, fixing things and tinkering with things.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Euarda Patrick; two brothers, Dallas and Robert Coen; and an infant brother, Ralph Coen Jr.

Funeral was at Garnand Funeral Home, Garden City. Burial was in Valley View Cemetery, Garden City.
