Joyce Brackett, 70 passed away Thursday, November 30, 2000, at the Muskogee Regional Medical Center. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Saturday, December 2, 2000 at the Stidham Baptist Church, Stidham, Oklahoma, with Reverend Gene Cook officiating.
Casketbearers for the service were John Burdine, Jimmy Parker, Emmett Duvall, Orvil Burdine, Lynn Kayler, and James Gideon. Interment followed at Greenwood Cemetery, Eufaula. Services are under the direction of Merritt Funeral Service, Eufaula.
Joyce was born March 24, 1930 at Stidham. She was the daughter of Frank and Myrtle (Acord) Bradshaw. She was married to Sam Brackett August 11, 1947 at Lenna. She was a homemaker and a member of the Stidham Baptist Church. She was a wonderful, loving wife, mother, and grandmother; a hard working help-mate for Sam.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Sonny Bradshaw, and Joe Frank Bradshaw; and one sister, Hazel Swearingen.
Survivors include her husband, Sam Brackett, of the home; two daughters Joan Christian, of Stidham, and JoAnn Guthrie, of Canton, Texas, two sons, Rocky Charles Brackett and Bim Brackett, both of Stidham; three sisters, Lucille Gideon, of Eufaula, Rosalie Barker, of Douglasville, Georgia, and Betty Newsome, of Midwest City; seven grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
