Margret Maynard Stanley Ray was the daughter of Christopher and Eva Shockey Mainer (Maynard). Her siblings were Stephen M., John, Elizabeth, James, Clarinda, Vina, and Henry. She married Richard P. Standley in Pike County on July 2, 1869. Their children were Calvin C., Lefbridge, Melvin, Monterville, Tilden S. J., and William L. She married Joseph Ray on December 24, 1890. Their children were Harvey, Marion, Helen, Harrison, and Anthony.

Eight of these children preceded her in death, and seven are still living. They are Melvin, Mont, John, Richard. L. “Dick,”, Vicy, Harrison, and Pricy. Sister Ray joined the Regular Baptist Church about fifty years ago, and took fellowship with the old Apple Orchard Church. Later she moved her fellowship to the Pilgrim Home Church of Regular Baptist and was a faithful member until her death on May 9, 1942. At the age of 101 years, she fell asleep in Christ, to rest from her labors.
