Local Man's Son Is Buried in Wisconsin

Funeral services were held at 3 o'clock Saturday for Lawrence Aiken, 60, who died Thursday afternoon in a Superior, Wis., hospital. Rev. Keith Hanley officiated with burial in Soldier's Square, Greenwood cemetery. Born May 27, 1911 in Hasting, Okla., he was the son of Judson Aiken of 202 W. Water street, Whitesboro, and the late Mammie Aiken. He had resided in Superior since 1947. Mr. Aiken was owner and operator of the Belknap Barber Shop, a veteran of World War II, a member of Acacia Lodge No. 329, A.F. & A.M., Henry S. Blomberg Post 847, Veterans of Foreign Wars and United Barbers of Wisconsin. He is survived by his widow, Emily, one son, Larry Aiken, of Superior; his father, Judson Aiken, of Whitesboro; two brothers, Carl Aiken of Chino, Calif., and Leonard Aiken of Dallas; six sisters, Mrs. Berdie Snow and Fae Aiken of Whitesboro, Mrs. Daisy McCool of Santa Barbara, Calif., Mrs. Mary Lee Rush of Austin, Mrs. Jean Bolin of Pasadena and Mrs. Kathryn Martin of Galena Park. Pallbearers were Harry Wennberg, Wendell Anderson, Thomas Mackail, Claude Gyllan, John Larson and James Tucker. His brothers, Leonard, and sisters, Jean, Fae, and Kathryn, attended the funeral services in Superior.
