Mr. Ropp was born July 19, 1919, at Halstead and was a lifelong resident. He was a retired farmer and had worked for American Coach in Newton. He was a member of First United Methodist Church, Halstead.
Survivors include his wife, Maxine of the home; his former wife, Gladys; four sons, Jack of Salina, Dan of Hutchinson, Perry of San Jose, Calif., and Ken of Little Rock Ark.; two daughters, Peggy Schrag of Hutchinson and Patty Makiyama of Beaverton, Ore.; 10 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
The funeral will be at 2:30 p.m. Sunday at Kaufman Funeral Home, Halstead, the Rev. Roger O. Shanks officiating. A family graveside service will be at 10 a.m. Monday in Halstead Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to the Halstead United Methodist Church or the Harvey County Hospice in care of the funeral home.
Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home, 418 Chestnut, Halstead, 67056.
