Esther Menning, daughter of Casper and Sophia Menning, was born in White Lake, South Dakota, on November 10, 1893. She lived her youth there and attended school in White Lake, South Dakota, and Sloan, Iowa.
She was united in marriage to Walter Jacobs of Primghar, Iowa, on February 14, 1917, at Sanborn, Iowa. Their entire married life was lived in the Primghar and Sanborn, Iowa, vicinity.
She is survived by her husband, Walter; two daughters, Winona (Mrs. Clyde Lockey) of Arnolds Park, Iowa, and Juanita (Mrs. Ralph McKay) of Kalispell, Montana; two sons, Wayne Jacobs of Stoughton, Wisconsin, and Freddie Jacobs of Primghar, Iowa; twelve grandchildren; four great grandchildren; and one brother, William Menning of Sanborn, Iowa.
She passed away at the St. Joseph Hospital of Sioux City, Iowa, on March 22, 1969, at the age of 75 years, 4 months and 12 days.
She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother and two sisters.
She was a member of the St. Andrew's United Methodist Church of Sanborn, Iowa.
