Matt was born March 24, 1986 in Salem, a son of Terry D. and Faith E. Martin Rogers. He had resided in the East Fairfield for a number of years, until moving to East Palestine in 1994, and more recently to the Negley area.
He was a member of the East Palestine Church of the Nazarene, and was a graduate of the East Palestine High School, as well as the Columbiana Co. Career Center.
He is survived by his mother, Faith McCreary, of East Palestine, his father, Terry D. Rogers, Salem; a brother, James Rogers, Goodlettsville, TN; his sister, Taylor Rogers, East Palestine. He also leaves his grandparents, James and Doris Martin of Negley. Matt had been preceded in death by his other grandparents, Steven S. Rogers and Eileen Rogers Cowdery.
The family will receive friends at the Oliver-Linsley Funeral Home, East Palestine from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Saturday. The funeral will be at 2:00 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home, with Rev. Mark Taylor, of the church, officiating. Burial will be in Crest Haven Memorial Gardens.
Matty was a friend of my children. He and my daughter Liz were especially good friends. He was such a good young man. He loved his big brother Jim very much and always wanted to be with him. Please visit him and don't let him ever be forgotten. Thank you to all who visit Matty.
