Joseph J. Bryl, 98, of 3 Chestnut Street, died Monday, August 4, in Oakwood Rehab & Nursing Center, Webster. His wife, Claire (Millette) Bryl, died in 1988.

He leaves nephews and nieces, including his caregiver Irene Augustyn of Dudley, Jacqueline LeBeau of North Grosvenordale, CT, Mary Guerrier of Palm Springs, CA and Genia Perchlak of Arcadia, CA; great nephews and great nieces. He was preceded in death by 3 sisters, Louise Rogala, Mary LeBeau and Veronica Kucharska.

He was born in Dudley, the son of Michael and Catherine (Buch) Bryl, and was a lifelong resident. He attended Cole Trade High School in Southbridge.

He was an Army Air Corps Veteran of World War II.

Mr. Bryl was a machinist at the Leland Gifford Company in Worcester before retiring.

He was a member of Sacred Heart of Jesus Church in Webster. He also belonged to the Webster-Dudley American Legion Post #184 for over 50 years.

The funeral will be held Thursday, August 7, from the Sitkowski & Malboeuf Funeral Home, 340 School Streeet, Webster, with a Mass at 11:00 AM in Sacred Heart of Jesus Church, 16 East Main Street, Webster. Burial will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Webster. The Webster-Dudley Veterans Council will provide the military honors. A calling period will be from 9:15 to 10:15 AM Thursday, August 7, in the funeral home.
