Valerie BabinA Mass of Christian burial was celebrated today at St. Mary Catholic Church in Raceland for Valerie Foret Babin, 79, a native and resident of Raceland who died at 7:30 a.m. Saturday.
She was the wife of Felix Babin Jr.; mother of Clarence, Gerald and Alfred Babin, Gladys Detillier and JoAnn Windham; sister of Cecilia Breaux; half sister of Clarence Foret.
She is also survived by 17 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Anna Lee Richard; parents, Emma Martin and George Foret; sisters, Edolia and Philomine Champagne and Georgia Waguespack; and a brother, Ignace Foret.
Falgout Funeral Home of Raceland is in charge of arrangements.
