Immigrated to the US from Sweden in 1869 and settled in Illinois before moving to Nebraska. Husband of Josephine Marie Bjork. They married on 22 February 1877 in Illinois. Andrew is the father of Hilda Johnson, Carl Emil Backstrom, Alfred Isaac Backstrom, Emma Louisa Johnson, Theodore Backstrom, Amanda Pearson, Mabel Backstrom, Selma Carr and John Backstrom.
