Inscription:

He is not dead this child of our affection
But one unto that school
Where he no longer needs our poor protection
And Christ himself doth rule.

The following is from an undated and unnamed newspaper obituary found in a scrapbook:

Harold Vincent Abbott, only child of former Senator and Mrs. Charles W. Abbott, passed away at the Abbott home on the Perkins farm in Londonderry, Saturday morning at 9 o'clock, after a long struggle with pneumonia.

Harold Vincent Abbott was born in Derry, and would have been 22 years old on Thursday, April 21. He attended the grammar school here in the East Side school house and then at Pinkerton academy. He graduated from Pinkerton in the class of 1907. The following autumn he entered the New Hampshire college at Durham and remained there a little more than a year. He then entered Dartmouth college where he made excellent progress and would have been graduated in June 1911.
