Allan Harris was very active with the Shakesperean Festival in Ashland for many years. When the stage was rebuilt in the 1950's he built a balsawood model that toured worldwide to promote the festival. He was a retired mortician and a very religious man. After his retirement in California he and his wife, Irene, returned to Ashland where he took up a custodian job at a local school. When Irene passed away, he met and married a local sorority house mother named Maurine. They later moved to northern Arizona. He passed away in the Tucson VA Hospital after a bout with cancer.
