Waneta Anna Stahl Engelman was the daughter of Curtis Melvin and Maud Ellen (Newcomer) Stahl. She married Augusta Finton about 1926 and they had a son named Bobbie Eugene Finton. They divorced and she married William Jennings Engelman on April 14, 1928 in South Bend, St. Joseph County, Indiana. They had two daughters, Doris Janette and Karen Elaine. Waneta was born February 21, 1907 in Claypool and lived in South Bend since 1927, coming from Pierceton. She was preceded in death by her husband. William Jennings Engleman, on June 15, 1990. She retired from Wyman's Department Store as a clerk. Waneta A. Engelman of West Grove Street, age 87, died at 12:55 p.m. Sunday in St. Joseph's Medical Center. She is survived by her two daughters, Janette Cockrell of Danville, Ill., and Karen Holloway of Mishawaks; seven grandchildren; and nine great grandchildren. A son, Bob Finton, died in 1992 in Bell, Gilchrist Co., Fl. She was a member of First Brethren Church of Ardmore and Circle of the Friends of the Church. Services were held at 11 a.m. Thursday in Welsheimer Funeral Home, 521 N. William St. Burial was in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens. Waneta and William J. Engleman's daughter, Karen Elaine (Engleman) Holloway passed away on June 17, 2006 due to lung cancer.
She was cremated and remains are unknown.
