Valentine McCord Dies Suddenly Of Heart Attact
Valentine McCord, 80, retired Nickle Plate employee,died suddenly from a heart seizure,Sunday morning at 7:10 O'clock at his residence,408 West Barner street.
Funeral services will be held this(Tuesday)afternoon at two o'clock at the Goodwin funeral home with Rev. R. H. Miller of the First Christian church,officiating. Burial will be made n Greenlawn cemetery. Friends may call at the mortuary.
Mr McCord who was a native of Ohio,was born April 20 1870 and was the son of James and Clymelia Julian McCord. He came to Indiana in 1872 and devoted his life to farming until 1916 when he accepted employment at the Nickel Plate shops. He was a member of the First Christian church.
On October 31 1889 he married Clara Belle Street who preceded him in death January 29 1926. His second wife, Alice Boyer, whom he married in 1927 died April 19 1949. On March 15,of this year he married Eva Eaton, who survives. Three sons, Joe McCord of Jefferson, Fern McCord of Frankfort and Forrest McCord of Muncie, survive with two daughters Mrs Velma Albright,Frankfort,RFD 5 and Mrs Ruby Kressel of Frankfort. One brother N.F.McCord resides in Frankfort. Ten grandchildren and one great grandchild also survive.
