Mrs. Dixon, a retired school teacher of the New Hanover County System, was born at Wilmington, on January 17, 1896, the daughter of the late George W. and Betty Burnett Carmeron, Sr. She taught the first grade at William Hooper School for 33 years.
Mrs. Dixon was educated at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and at Columbia University. She was a member of the North Carolina Educational Association, The National Education Association and was a member of the National Association of Retired Teachers.
She was a communicant of the Episcopal Church of the Good Shepherd.
Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Zebulon D. Vance of Wrightsville Beach and Mrs. Heyward Bellamy of City; a son, Clifton Nash Dixon, Jr. of City; two brothers, Daniel B.Cameron of Orlando, Florida and George W. Cameron of Clarkton, and 7 grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted from the Episcopal Church of the Good Shepherd Sunday afternoon at 3:30 p.m. by the Rev. Edward T. Small. Interment will follow in Oakdale Cemetery.
