He was born on August 5, 1935, in Macomb to Charles and Faye Faler Campbell. He married Jane Hutchens in 1986 in Macomb. She survives. Also, surviving are two daughters, Karen (Steve) Carter of Blandinsville and Cheryl Campbell of Blandinsville; one son, Mark Campbell of Wentzville, Missouri; one step-daughter, Diane Ingledue of Macomb; one step-son, Alan Wheat of Macomb, three grandchildren, one step-grandson and four brothers, Charles Campbell of Havana, Dallas (Jane) Campbell of Bushnell, George (Sandy) Campbell of Roseville and Schuyler (Miriam) Campbell of Little America.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Jesse Shumaker.
He lived most of his life in Bushnell before moving to Macomb in 1986. He worked at Norforge in Bushnell for 42 years and then for Vaughn and Bushnell in Bushnell before retiring in 2000. He was a member of the Macomb Elks Lodge #1009 and the Macomb Church of Christ. He enjoyed ballroom dancing and woodworking.
A Memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, August 1, 2008, at the Clugston-Tibbitts Funeral Home in Macomb with Reverend Jason Polk and Elder Don Mathis, officiating. Entombment of ashes will be in the Oakwood Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Thursday evening at the funeral home.
Memorials may be made to either the MDH Hospice or the McDonough County Humane Society.
