Mary's obituary was published in the Lebanon Reporter on 02-May-1940 on pg. 8, column 5:

"MRS. MARY TAYLOR SUCCUMBS TODAY - Rites Saturday Morning At Dover Church - Mrs. Mary Ellen Taylor, age 81 years, life resident of the Dover and Pleasant View communities west of Lebanon, passed away this morning at 11:15 o'clock at the Witham hospital where she had been a patient more than two years. She had been ill since October 17, 1937, and her death was attributed to a complication of ailments.
Mrs. Taylor was born in Boone county, a daughter of David A. and Elizabeth (Harney) Caldwell, the second of a family of eleven children. She was married September 17, 1879, in this county to Lon Taylor who died March 22, 1931. She spent her entire life in the Dover and Pleasant View neighborhoods and had resided on the farm near Pleasant View the pats forty years. She was a member of the Dover Christian Church.
Survivors are her two children, Ray and Orval Taylor of west of Lebanon; two brothers, Ol Caldwell of near Dover and Will Caldwell of Hoopston, Ill.; three sisters, Mrs. Sarah McDaniel of near Lebanon, Mrs. Nannie Miles of Darlington and Mrs. Myrtle Myers of Danville; seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. One daughter died at age of 16 months and a brother, Ora Caldwell, and four sisters, Mrs. Margaret Sloan, Mrs. Anna Sharp, Mrs. Lucinda Dinsmore and an infant sister, preceded her in death.
Funeral services will be held at the Dover Christian Church Saturday morning at eleven o'clock with the Rev. Ora McDaniel officiating. Burial will be in the Dover cemetery. Friends may call at the Bratton Brothers funeral home tonight and after nine o'clock Friday morning at the home of the son, Ray Taylor, west of Lebanon near Pleasant View Church."
