Grace's obituary was published in the Lebanon Reporter (Lebanon, IN) on 04-Aug-1986:

"Grace Rice was lifetime resident of Thorntown - Grace F. Rice, a lifelong resident of the Thorntown community, died yesterday at Witham Hospital. She was 95 and had been in failing health for some time.

Mrs. Rice was born May 4, 1891 near Thorntown, the daughter of Albert S. and Nancy L. (Bowman) White. She was married Dec. 20, 1911, to Orville E. Rice, who died Dec. 1, 1985.

A 1911 graduate of Thorntown High School, Mrs. Rice was the last remaining member of her class. Mr. and Mrs. Rice farmed in the Thorntown and Dover communities all of their married life.

She was a member of the Dover Christian Church.

Surviving are sons Haven, of Route 2, Jamestown and Harold, of Route 2, Thorntown; Keith of Nokomis, Fla., and Kemper Rice, Knightstown; seven grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by two brothers and one sister.

Services will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the Russell and Hitch Funeral Home, Thorntown, with the Revs. Gerald Holdman and Raymond Duff officiating. Burial will be at Dover Cemetery.

Friends may call at the funeral home after 4 p.m. Tuesday."

"Grace S. Rice [sic, Grace F. Rice] - THORNTOWN -- Grace S. Rice [sic, Grace F. Rice], 95, of Rt. 1, Thorntown, died at 12:15 p.m. Sunday in Witham Hospital at Lebanon. She had been in failing health for an extended time.

She was a member of Dover Christian Church. A 1911 graduate of Thorntown High School, she was the last surviving member of her graduating class. A life resident of the Thorntown community, she and her husband had farmed in the Dover and Thorntown area all of their married life.

She was born May 4, 1891, near Thorntown to Albert S. and Nancy L. Bowman White. She married Orville D. Rice [sic, Orville E. Rice] on Dec. 20, 1911. He preceded her in death on Dec. 1, 1985.

Survivors include seven grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; four children, Haven of Rt. 2, Jamestown, Harold of Rt. 2, Thorntown, Keith of Nokomis, Fla., and Kemper of Knightstown; and several nieces and nephews.

Two brothers and a sister preceded her in death.
