Funeral services were held at the Round Valley Methodist Church in Covelo December 11 for Carmelita Phyllis Gurrola, 63, who passed away December 8 at a Santa Rosa hospital. Burial was in Headquarters Cemetery in Covelo.
A native of Covelo, Mrs Gurrola was a homemaker and had lived in Covelo four the past four years.
She is survived by her husband John Gurrola of Covelo; her mother Catherine Agnes Ackerman of Covelo; and children, Sylvia Gomez, Sheree Bettega, John Gurrola Jr, Cruz Gurrola, Tim Bettega, Joani Gurrola, and Sarah Gurrola, all of Covelo and Anna Crabtree of Coyote Valley.
She is also survived by her brothers and sisters; Roger Duncan, Levina Lincoln, Leroy Duncan, Sylvia Duncan, and Lucille Lincoln, all of Covelo, and Audrey Grant of Oakland, as well as numerous grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
