"Laid to Rest in the Edna Cemetery - Silas Morrison, pioneer of Howard township and veteran of the Civil war, died Tuesday at his late home in Coffeyville where he had resided since leaving his old homestead on Snow Creek. He was 85 years old and survived by his widow, two daughters, and two sons, one of whom, Silas, resides on the Morrison farm 12 miles southwest of Edna. After a short funeral service at Coffeyville, the remains were bought to the North Edna Cemetery Wednesday afternoon and laid to rest beside a son, E.W. Morrison, who died May 9, 1917, at the age of 38 years."
