Peter Winterrowd, of Jackson township, who was found dead in his bed last Wednesday week, died of paralysis of the heart.
He was born in Warren county, Ohio, July 9, 1824, being at the time of his death seventy-three years two months and twenty-seven days old.
He came to Shelby county with his parents when only six months old, settling in Jackson township, where he has ever since lived.
He was married October 24, 1849 to Elizabeth Hageman. He was the father of ten children, five of whom are living, namely; Mrs. Phoebe Beck, of Bethel, Ohio, Peter A. Winterrowd, of Peterson, Iowa, Mrs. Clara Muck, Mrs. Julia Kline and George Winterrowd, of Jackson township.
Funeral services will be held from the St. George Luthern Church at two p.m. Friday, October 8, Rev. J. L. Perry, of Flat Rock, officiating.

When Peter Winterrowd was born on July 9, 1824, in Warren, Ohio, his father, Jacob, was 26 and his mother, Jane (Anderson), was 21. He had 2 siblings - Matilda Ellen Winterrowd Hageman and Melinda Winterrowd Deiwert. He married Elizabeth Hageman on October 22, 1849. They had nine children in 17 years - Walter Shelby Winterrowd, Phebe Jane Winterrowd Beck, George W Winterrowd, Clara Louise Winterrowd Muck, Peter Anderson Winterrowd, Julia Matilda Winterrowd Klein, Samaria Cornelia Winterrowd, David Simon Winterrowd, Jacob Grant Winterrowd. He died on October 10, 1897, in Jackson Township, Indiana, at the age of 73, and was buried in Shelbyville, Indiana.
