Daughter of the late Herbert F. and Gladys M. (Denius) Newman. On July 20, 1944, she married Mervin A. Beaver, who died on Aug. 8, 1978. She attended Lewisburg schools. Betty was employed at American Home Foods in Milton for 19 years, retiring in 1991. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Cowan and the Ramblers Club. Betty enjoyed taking bus trips, doing crafts and needlepoint. She is survived by four children, Joanne M. Huggins of Easton, KS., Wayne A. Beaver and wife Kay of Turbotville, Patricia A. Krick and husband Terry of Watsontown and Linda K. Treas and husband Rick of Milton;
five grandchildren, David Huggins, Kelly Herkin, Lisa Shiffer, Christine Beaver and Eric Beaver; 11 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson; two brothers, William Denius of Lewisburg and Herbert Newman of Baltimore, Md.; and one sister, Joyce Hummel of Middleburg. She was preceded in death by one brother, Richard Newman, and one son-in-law, Norman Huggins.
