Oma Swallows was married to Wesley Swartz prior to marrying John Woodard sometime in the late 1940's. They are all buried in Oak Lawn Cemetery.

Mrs. Woodward Dies at Age of 69.

Mrs. Oma Woodward, 69, died at 6:10 p.m. Sunday at the South View Rest Home, where she had been a patient 1 1/2 years. Born Jan. 18, 1894 at Monterey, Tenn., she was the daughter of Ras and Nancy Robinson Swallows.

Mrs. Woodward had resided at Kingsland 14 years previous to entering the rest home. She was a member of the Ossian Nazarene Church.

Surviving are four daughters; Mrs. Elwood (Jemima) Harshman of Keystone, Route 1, Mrs. Ralph (Nancy) Harshman of Montpelier, Route 1, Mrs. Wilbur (Jessie) Monnot of Ossian, Route 2, and Mrs. Jack (Laura) Dennis of Petroleum; two sons; John Swartz of Fort Wayne and William Swartz of Bluffton.

Also surviving are three brothers; Charles Swallows of State Creek, Tenn., Joseph Swallows of Monterey, Tenn., and Wesley Swallows of West Palm Beach, Fla.; one sister, Mrs. Sam (Katie) Hampton of Chattahoochee, Fla; 31 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.

Friends may call at the Elzey Funeral Home in Ossian after 7 p.m. today.

Services will be conducted at 3 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home with Rev. Donald Orr officiating. Burial will be in the Oak Lawn Cemetery in Ossian.

(*notes of genealogical correction...Nancy Swallows maiden name is Farris, not Robinson. Also, Charles Swallows lived and died in Sale Creek, TN, not State Creek.)
