She was born June 10, 1933 in Henderson County to the late Joe K. and Estelle Blackwell Mace.
Mrs. Henderson graduated from Hendersonville High School in 1951 and attended Blantons Business College in Asheville. She worked at WHKP Radio Station in Hendersonville. She worked for the Lenoir News-Topic in the late 1970s. She was an Antiques Dealer at the Lenoir Antique Market for sixteen years. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Lenoir.
Survivors include her husband of 56 years, Vernon E. Henderson of the home; one son, Mark Henderson of the home; two daughters, Mrs. Debbie Bradberry and husband Ken, and Mrs. DeAnn Bowen and husband Brien, all of Conover; one brother, Joe K. Mace Jr. of Horseshoe, N.C.; two grandchildren, Chris Bradberry and wife, Jessica, and Julie Smith and husband, Robert; and three great-grandchildren, Ryan Bradberry, Dylan Smith and Logan Bradberry.
Interment will follow at Blue Ridge Memorial Park
