Bertis Lee Bevis Jr., 61, of Bremen, Ala., passed away Monday morning, July 28, at his home from pancreatic cancer. He was a Rogers High School graduate and a 1972 graduate of Florence State University. He taught at Deshler High School and was teaching at the Huntsville Center for Technology, Huntsville City Schools.He is survived by his wife Monica Kelley Bevis; a son, Bertis Lee Bevis III of Bremen; his mother, Jessie P. Bevis of Florence; a sister, Judy (Bobby) Melvin of Florence; two nieces, Jessica Brink and Brandi Kelley; and two nephews, Sean and Ian Kelley.Pallbearers will be Lance Young, Dos Young, Herbert Floyd, Phillip Daniels, Warren Sadler.
