James Mason Bailey was born January 26, 1895 in Gatesville Texas to Hugh Lee Bailey and Sarah Jane Turpin. He married Zula Fort in 1924 and together they raised two children, Dorothy Marie Bailey and Harold Lee Bailey in Waco, Texas where they lived all their lives. He served his country in the U.S. Army and is a veteran of World War I. He died March 25, 1970 and survivors include his widow, Zula Fort Bailey; son Harold Lee Bailey and wife, Bonnie Lee (Espen) of Tyler; daughter Dorothy Bailey Scarborough of Waco; and grandchildren.
