Mr. Carter was born December 25, 1929 in Wilkes County to Bramlet Worth and Omie Bauguess Carter.
Mr. Carter was a Veteran of The US Army.
Survivors include his wife, Ethelene Cothren Carter of the home; a daughter, Karen Caffey and her husband David of Clemmons; one son, Chris Carter of Hendersonville; a daughter, Kathy Reece and her husband Donald of Boonville; six grandchildren; one brother, Alex Carter and his wife Raydell of State Road; and one sister Judy Williams and her husband Huw of Winston Salem; two brothers-in-law, Claytus Cothren and his wife Joyce, and Fred Cothren and his wife Elizabeth; one sister-in-law Betty Jo Cothren.
Funeral services for Mr. Carter will be held at 3pm Tuesday, January 8, 2008 at Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church.
Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
