Cyril was born in and died in San Francisco, CA. He was the son of Albert Cuevas (1867-1938) and Ramona Flores (1868-1939). Albert and Ramona had three known children: Albert, Raymond, and Cyril. Cyril and his family lived on Potrero Hill on Wisconsin Street in San Francisco.

His grandfather (Dionicio Cuevas ) was born in Chili and was a sawer for box factory. Dionicio no doubt came to California during the Gold Rush and went on to work at the mercury mine at New Almaden, where Albert was born. Albert's wife's family, the Flores, also worked at the New Almaden mine.

By 1930, Cyril's family owned their home at 770 Wisconsin Street. It was worth $1500.

Cyril married Gussie Fred Loskutoff on 02 Jun 1926 in San Francisco, CA. He was employed as a truck driver. Gussie worked for the American Biscuit Co. They had one son, Cyril Albert, born in 1929 and died in 2008.
