Mrs. Stokesberry Dies at 91

Mrs. Hester Ann Stokesberry, 91, a resident of Lock Springs, died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Cecil Hamlin, 425 Cherry, this morning. She had been with her daughter for eight days and has been in failing health seven months.
She was born March 19, 1891, (personal note; this date is wrong, as she was born in 1881) at Lock Springs, daughter of John and Nancy Ann Litton, and spent her lifetime there. She was married to William Harve Stokesberry March 19, 1902. He died April 29, 1948.
She was a member of the Presbyterian church in Lock Springs and had attended the Brookshier school at Lock Springs.
Survivors include four daughters; Mrs. George Slattery, Chillicothe; Mrs. James Shoemaker, Spurger, Tex.; Mrs. Cecil Hamlin, Chillicothe, and Mrs. Louetta Williamson, Randolph, Iowa,
A son, Ira Stokesberry, N. Aurora, IL.; four brothers; Raymond, Charles, Lawrence, and Harold Litton, all of Lock Springs; three sisters, Mrs. Newt Gibson, Jamesport; Mrs. Harry Moss, Kansas City;
fourteen grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son and two sisters.
Funeral arrangements for Mrs. Stokesberry will be announced later from the Norman Funeral Home.
Burial will be at Lock Springs Cemetery, Lock Springs, Daviess Co., Missouri.
