CHESTER HENRY BIDWELL
Retired Miller Bidwell Dies
Chester H. Bidwell, 87, retired miller, died yesterday in a La Grande hospital after a short illness. Born in Plainview, Minn., August 28, 1864. He had been a resident of Union county for 64 years. He was a member of the Modern Woodmen of America. Of La Grande Elks for nearly 50 years, and the First Methodist church. Surviving are three nieces, Mrs. Jessie Ellis, Portland; Mrs. Icis Van Blokland, La Grande; and Mrs. Virginia Hulac, Portland; and a nephew, Deane Bidwell, North Powder. Funeral services will be in Snodgrass Funeral home Friday at 2 p.m. with Rev. Henry Gernhardt officiating. Burial will be in Island City Cemetery.
