Jim operated an automatic screw machine at a Buick Plant for General Motors for 17 years. He also owned and operated Mercier's Washer Clinic in Flint for 25 years.
He enjoyed fishing and cross stitching. He was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, a life member of Cadillac VFW, Cadillac Area Honor Guard and Cadillac American ¨ Legion.
