"The Best"

God saw that you were getting tired, and a cure was not to be, so he put his arms around you and said, "Come home with me." With tearful eyes, we watched you suffer and saw you fade away. Although we loved you dearly, we could not make you stay. A golden heart stopped beating, a determined spirit was at rest. God broke our hearts to prove to us, He only takes the best.

Lonnie Ray Revils, Sr. age 59, beloved son and brother went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, July 27, 2008.

Lonnie was born in Little Rock, Arkansas on December 19, 1949. He passed away at Hermann Hospice Care and donated his body to medical science. Lonnie was a veteran of the Vietnam War. He was a collector of many things, a gourmet cook before he became very ill, and he was a very giving person. As difficult as it was, Lonnie still kept his sense of humor throughout his illness and managed to laugh until his last breath.

Revils, Sr. and survived by his loving mother, Margaret Jones Revils; two sons Lonnie Revils, Jr. and David Revils; one granddaughter Shelbi Revils, and one grandson Hunter Revils ; 3 brothers Charles Revils, Jr. and wife Jeri of Arizona; Jodie Revils of Liberty,Tx., and Curtis Revils and wife Sue of Baytown; three half-brothers Rickie Revils and family Gary Revils, Kevin Revils & family; Aunt Pauline of Licking, MO, Uncle Lloyd and wife Margaret of Shreveport LA, Aunt Marge Cane and Aunt Mary Bennett of Baytown; Aunt Pat of Arkansas. Also surviving are several nieces, nephews, and cousins and four stepdaughters. In Lieu of flowers the family requests that you register to be an organ donor.

A "Going Home Celebration Service" will be at Cedar Bayou Baptist Church, 3116 N. Alexander Drive, Baytown, Friday, August 1, at 11:00 AM with Dr. E. Richard Steel officiating.
