Daniel McNicol Caddell, 84, Anderson, died July 29, 2008, at Community Hospital, Anderson, after an extended illness.

He was born June 21, 1924, in Glasgow, Scotland, and lived in Anderson for 55 years.

He was employed in machine repair for Delco Remy for 30 years before retiring in 1986.

He served in the Royal Air Force during World War II. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge. He loved to sing and dance.

Survivors include his wife, Catherine (MacLachlan) Caddell, whom he married March 19, 1949; two sons and daughters-in-law, Euan and Janet Caddell of Memphis, Tenn., and Jim and Debbie Caddell of Kokomo; a sister, Anne Caddell of England; four grandchildren, Heather and David Chacon of Lexington, Ky., Amanda and Aaron Hill of Tipton, Erin and Chris Turley of Kokomo, and Jonathon and Shayla Caddell of Noblesville; five great-grandchildren, Kaitlyn Caddell, Quinton Turley, Iris Turley, Jacen Hill and Aiden Caddell; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Hugh and Margaret (McNicol) Caddell; and a brother, Hugh Caddell.

Services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday at Rozelle-Johnson Funeral Service with Robert Bell of Bethany Christian Church officiating. Burial will be in Anderson Memorial Park Cemetery.
