Daughter of Joseph Tipton Benge and Emma Almida(Spain)Benge. She married James Douglas Grigsby and had a long life and many children. She would work the garden with grandpa and do the canning on the farm without the aid of running water. It could be a chore but it leaves fond memories in my mind. I knew anytime that I was in trouble for something I had done it was only because I did it, no getting around that. She would tell me so many stories which I am trying to record now for my own grandchildren. Her grandparents were James Ashbury Benge and Emeline (Friddle) Benge. Her great grand parents were Baxter B.B. Benge and Elizabeth(Pierson)Benge and George Washington Friddle and Elizabeth J(Pratt)Friddle. I will add more as I learn. To me she was my light and my confidant. She could do no wrong in my eyes and that is a gift that I give to my grandchild now. To love someone like that is rare and should be remembered. I wish I could hug her to this day. I can trace one part of her heritage back into the 1600's and another back almost as far. I hope to finish this all before my eldest granchild goes to high school. she keeps a lot of family company here in the cemetery. She was born Sepi 1905 and passed on in 1986 and I did not get there for her burial but she knew I loved her. I hope she has her snuff and butter mi;l where she is.
