Josie Hamon Dies At 86
Mrs. Josie Hamon, 86, died Wednesday [4 Apr] in the Jefferson County hospital annex, after an extended illness. She had lived with her daughter, Mrs. Ed [Florence] Garbe, Valley Falls, for the past eight years.
Mrs. Hamon was born July 22, 1875 in Atchison County and lived her entire life in Atchison and Jefferson counties. She was married to Edward Hamon on Dec. 3, 1903. Mr. Hamon died Feb. 17, 1925.
Survivors include two sons, George Hamon, Loveland, Colo. and Miles Hamon, who lives in Florida; a daughter, Mrs. Ed Garbe, of the home; a sister, Mrs. Mary White, Indiana, Pa.; a brother, Bert Uncapher, Valley Falls; and two half sisters, Ella Uncapher and Edith Uncapher, both of Valley Falls.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Coal Creek church, with the Rev. Paul Iwig officiating. Burial will be in the Nortonville cemetery.
